Dr. Mona Shrestha Adhikari

Chief Executive Officer, Enterprise for Management, Economic Reform & Gender Equality (EMERGE); Nepal

Dr. Shrestha  is the Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise for Management, Economic Reform & Gender Equality (EMERGE) and an international expert on gender equality, social inclusion, and resilient and agile enterprises. 

She has more than two decades of experience working in the private sector, national and international non-governmental organizations and international organizations. She currently works in an array of topics including empowerment, entrepreneurship, international trade, disaster management and resilience of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from an inclusion and diversity lens. Dr. Shrestha has conducted extensive studies, published, presented and advocated on the topics of women’s empowerment, gender and trade, integration of MSMEs into global trade, among others. 

She holds a PhD in Women and Gender Studies from the University of Warwick (UK), MA in Development Studies specializing on women, gender and development from the Institute of Social Studies (the Netherlands) and MBA from University of Pune (India).
