Dr. Brendan Vickers

Dr. Vickers is the Head of International Trade Policy at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London. He has over 20 years of experience working on international trade and economic development issues, including as the Head of Research and Policy at the South African Department of Trade and Industry, where he was a lead negotiator in the UNFCCC on trade and climate change and the BRICS Dialogue Forum responsible for trade and investment policy. He previously worked as the Deputy Director for International Relations and Trade in the Office of the President and as the Director of the Global Economy and Development program at the Institute for Global Dialogue. He holds a PhD from the University of London and has published extensively on international trade and development issues.
