Professor Mustafizur Rahman is a Distinguished Fellow at the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), Dhaka, where he previously served as Executive Director. Before joining CPD, Professor Rahman taught at the University of Dhaka. His recent work has focused on the macroeconomic, trade, and fiscal policies of Bangladesh, Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) implementation, the challenges associated with Bangladesh’s graduation from Least Developed Country (LDC) status, and the country’s regional and global economic integration. His research has been published in edited volumes by globally renowned publishers, including Routledge, Springer, Hart, McMillan, and Tata-McGraw-Hill, as well as in respected journals. He is also the Series Editor of South Asia Economic Policy Studies, published by Springer. Professor Rahman has contributed as a member of the Panel of Economists for several of Bangladesh’s Five-Year Plans and serves on the Board of Trustees for both CPD and Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee (BRAC) University. Additionally, he is a member of the White Paper Committee established by Bangladesh’s current Interim Government.
Dr. Rahman received his Ph.D. from Moscow State University and pursued post-doctoral studies at Oxford University and Warwick University in the UK. He was also a Senior Fulbright Fellow at Yale University, USA.
